India Gate in Delhi

India Gate was built as a tribute to 90,000 Indian soldiers who fallen at the time of First World War as well as in Afghan war of 1919. This triumphal arch of red sandstone is more than 48m high with 26m height under the arch. The name of soldiers who passed away at the time of wars is engraved on the walls. The India Gate is inscribed in capital letters followed by lines written for fallen soldiers. The India Gate is positioned at the crossroads of several major roads to traffic.
